Classes are offered at 3 convenient times:

Monday - Friday
AM 8:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
PM 1:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.
EVE 6:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M.

New quarters begin approximately every ten weeks. NYIE reserves the right to add or cancel any class start date or section it deems necessary. Every consideration will be given to students, assisting in their enrollment in an alternate section or date, as enrollment space permits.

Please note: start dates and breaks are subject to change due to weather conditions or any other extenuating circumstances. Breaks are given between most quarters and range from 2-5 class days.

Courses are separated into three (3) ten-week quarters. All students will begin their coursework by taking Introduction to Esthetics Science, Introduction to Skin Care and Introduction to Makeup Techniques. Students will then complete additional classroom and hands-on requirements. The maximum student/faculty ratio for lectures is 8:1 in the first quarter and 24:1 in subsequent quarters.


New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. Students who wish to observe other religious holidays should notify the Administration for special arrangements.

School Hours

NYIE classrooms are open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Clinic hours are Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (subject to change). The Administrative offices are open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. NYIE reserves the right to close the school and clinic when deemed necessary.


NYIE's facilities include clinical and instructional rooms, administrative offices, a student lounge, a faculty office, reception area, computer lab, bookstore, library, laundry area, kitchenette, conference room, and a lecture hall that can accommodate up to sixty participants.

The clinic, open to the public Friday and Saturday (subject to change) has three private rooms. Rooms are equipped with esthetician tables, sinks, storage and supply cabinets and hot cabbies. All NYIE facilities are handicapped accessible.
